More on Belleair Beach Florida

Belleair Beach FloridaNestled between Indian Rocks Beach and Sand Key just off of Belleair Bluffs, Bel Air, Clearwater, Harper Bluffs, and Largo since the beautiful barrier island of Belleair Beach. Belleair Shores is nestled up against Belleair Beach in a tiny sliver between Indian Rocks Beach. Home to about 1700 residents, Belleair Beach is a gulf-front community with over 4500 feet of a very secluded white sandy shoreline surrounded by impressive waterfront homes and condominiums. This laid-back beach community is home to many sea turtles and seabird nesting sites scattered about the shore. It's a great place for a quiet, laid-back style and beach life as well as the ultimate beach destination for high-end waterfront and beachfront homes and properties.

Belleair Beach is a small sliver of barrier island between Clearwater Bay and Belleair Bluffs or the main town of Belleair. It is primarily a residential neighborhood and community with beachfront resorts along the ocean side and waterfront homes on the bay side. Howard Point is one prominent residential neighborhood featuring waterfront homes with dock's, boat lifts, and access to the Gulf of Mexico. Residents with boats can either go north or south out of the bay but if they go south, they have to go through John's Pass, quite a ways south toward Treasure Island. To the north, residents can simply head up around Sand Key and under The sand Key Bridge out to the Gulf of Mexico, no more than about a 10-minute boat ride.

Why Live on Belleair Beach?

Belleair Beach has been touted as one of the best places to retire in America, however, it is fairly affluent with a median home value of $600,000. 86% of residents own their own home and just 14% rent, primarily condominiums or second homes. This dense, suburban atmosphere are perfect for retirees as there is plenty of relaxation, not a lot of crowds, and of course, the beautiful sandy shores of Belleair. It's ideal for beachcombing, swimming, exploring, and of course, boating.

Belleair is an avid boaters community with many residents launching boats from their own backyards. It offers for beach access locations along with the Causeway Beach area complete with the boat ramp and municipal Marina with 20 boat slips.

Belleair Beach is also perfect for golf enthusiasts as there are more than 30 challenging courses all within about an hour's drive. It's also close to the Pinellas Trail, with over 30 miles for hiking, jogging, biking, and rollerblading. This peaceful and relaxing atmosphere is the epitome of waterfront limiting with old-fashioned neighborhood charm, beautiful estate homes, and waterfront property. It is one of the last strictly residential beach communities and Pinellas County.

From the locals:

"Beautiful beach, I had my wedding there , very romantic place and sand is so white like suger so amazing!"

"The city of Tampa is located north by over 30 miles & is situated along the bay in HILLSBOROUGH County.
Belleair Beach is the only quiet , residential area between 2 of the biggest & best tourist beaches in the entire state. We get the best of several worlds. The “fun side” of things to do (along with the tourists) right down the road, the quiet waterfront life because we are comprised of inlet dead end streets cut off from the tourists AND we can jump in the boat & be smack out in the Gulf of Mexico within 10 minutes."

"A unique residential only city on Sand Key south of Clearwater Beach. Low rise condos face the Gulf of Mexico and sinle family homes occupy the east side of Gulf Blvd to the Inracoastal. Restaurants and shopping are close by."

"I live in a fairly elderly neighborhood- the biggest crime scandals are tourists speeding over the bridge." - Niche.com

Not much but enjoy the beach and the weather because it's just a residential community but that doesn't mean that activities and events are not just minutes away.

Down in Indian Rocks Beach, you'll find fantastic restaurants right on the beach such as 18 on the Rocks, Sandy's Restaurant for delicious breakfast and lunch, and fantastic crapes and pastries at Café de Paris bakery. 18 on the Rocks is probably one of our favorites they give you that Tiki torch, beach-style vibe right on the water. They feature fantastic lobster rolls, mahi-mahi tacos, and fabulous handcrafted cocktails.

Grumpy's on the Beach is another favorite in Indian Rocks Beach offering vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, delicious salmon and ruby red trout and a fabulous Mediterranean style menu. They offer patio dining alfresco with the gorgeous tropical breezes flowing through the restaurant.
