Mandalay subdivision travels as far north as possible along Mandalay point Road and ends at a beautiful estate just before Bird Key. The only other way to access the state park is along the beach.

This primarily residential home features midsize properties, many of which have beach frontage and homes dating back to the 1930s. This community has developed over the years and homes typically start at about $500,000. Mandalay is primarily single-family homes with a couple of townhouses and smaller combo communities. You'll find a variety of home styles and designs and prices from about $500,000 to $3.7 million in several lots can be up to 1/4 acre. Homes either have parking on the road, a one or two-car garage or a carport.

Carlouel Yacht Club

Also at the north end of the island is the Carlouel Beach & Yacht Club on Clearwater Beach island. Located between the sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in the Intracoastal waterway, this private, full-service club is dedicated to fantastic dining, water recreational activities, and a social calendar. It's a perfect location to explore the beach, enjoy local seafood and fair, or relax in the shade at one of the poolside cabanas. It offers beautiful sunset views over the water as well as the opportunity to explore the natural habitat of the state park. Since 1934, this yacht club is providing old Florida charm with modern-day amenities. It features a tropical setting on the beach, two swimming pools, tennis courts, dockage on the Intracoastal Waterway and fine dining options.

Regatta Beach Club

The Regatta Beach Club is one of the largest resort condo communities on Clearwater Beach Island. It's a beautiful place to visit and explore the Mandalay community. But it's also a condominium community with units priced from about $330,000. Whether you looking for a low-maintenance condo on the beach or a perfect investment opportunity for a vacation rental, check out the Regatta Beach Club. It offers 24-hour front desk staff, beautiful amenities such as a fitness center, sunroom and library, outdoor barbecue grill area, heated pool and their own private pier. Homeowner association fees are approximately $500-$600 per month covering all common area maintenance, building maintenance, security, and management.

Bell Harbor

This condominium complex is located on the Intracoastal waterway but offers beautiful views of the beach in downtown Clearwater. Residents have access to a variety of amenities such as a seaside swimming pool, spa, grand clubhouse, social rooms, fitness center, security, and over 6 1/2 acres of lush landscaped property. These homes are priced from about $340,000-$1 million.

You'll find other small sections of condominiums on the beachside and the waterway side with a wide range of designs, styles, prices and condo association dues.

Between Somerset Street and the top of the island, you'll find residential homes and a couple of duplexes. Those that want waterfront access should choose homes on the Intracoastal Waterway as homes on the western side of the island are primarily beach access.

From Somerset Avenue south to the bridge you'll find the majority of services, commercial shops, restaurants, and plenty of hotels and AirB&Bs. If you're considering a move to Clearwater and Mandalay, consider staying in one of these beautiful little bed and breakfasts or small hotels to get a sense of the area.

In the center is McKay Park, a small city park with a playground and green space. You'll also find shops and restaurants within walking distance such as the Home Pavilion Beachside Grill, the Beach Fire Grill, and Frenchy's Rockaway Grill. All offer beautiful views of the beach and delicious seafood and local fair.

Mandalay Schools

Residents are part of the Pinellas County school district and school-age children are typically assigned to the Sandy Lane elementary school, the Dunedin Highland middle school, and the Clearwater high school. The Pinellas school for grades prekindergarten through 12th grade is also available and receives one of the highest ratings in the area.

Living in the Mandalay subdivision gives you some extra perks as you'll be considered a Carlouel resident.
