Pinellas County is a peninsula that is surrounded by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Tampa Bay in the central part of Florida's West Coast. The County is about 280 square miles including 35 miles of the best soft sand gulf coastal beaches in Florida. Two of Florida state's top 10 beaches are located here: Caladesi Island State Park and Fort Desoto Park. It is also home to the beloved and popular cities of St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater.
Things to Do in Pinellas County
One of the most popular biking spots in the area. The trail is 50 miles and runs near the neighborhood. The Trail runs from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs with plans to extend the trail into a 75 mile loop. It is also great for jogging, walking, skating, etc.
A large park that takes up five interconnected islands at the south end of Pinellas County. The park features a historic fort, white sandy beaches, boat launch, floating docks, camping area, picnic shelters, playgrounds, trails, swim centers, fishing piers, ferry service to Egmont and Shell Key, concession stand with souvenirs, and a dog park. It has been voted as the best beach in Florida several times by large publications such as Parents Magazine. There is always something new to discover and do at the park.
A rare gem, as it is one of the few untouched islands on the Gulf Coast. The island is only accessible by boat, for a small fee there is a boat that runs from Honeymoon Island State Park. It is a place to enjoy a true natural Florida beach.
A large park located on Honeymoon Island in St. Joseph Sound. The island is about 10 minutes from Crystal Beach. This park offers 385 acres with peaceful Gulf beaches, dog park, playgrounds, hiking trails, 2 cafes, and plenty of wildlife to observe.
A large gorgeous golf resort on 900 wooded acres in Palm Harbor. The resort is home to four championship golf courses.
St. Pete Beach is one of Florida's most iconic beach towns offering what many Floridians call the best beaches in Florida. Any water activity you want to take part in can be done from the beaches in St. Pete Beach. Tradewinds Island Grand Resort is located on St. Pete Beach where you can enjoy waterslides and other family fun like mini-golf. The amazing town of St. Pete Beach can easily be accessed via the bridge just southwest of the neighborhood after hopping on I-19 at the south end of the neighborhood then Pasadena Ave South to St. Pete Beach.
