More About the Stoney Point Neighborhood

Stoney Point is a neighborhood of South Tampa on the western shores of the peninsula just west of the Culbreath Heights neighborhood and directly south of the Culbreath Isles neighborhood. It is a small residential neighborhood that is made up of only four streets just off of South Westshore Boulevard. Stoney Point is home to some of the best waterfront properties on the bay and is a great place for boat lovers that want to dock their boat right in their backyard. 

Things to Do Near Stoney Point

Seeing that Stoney Point is 100% residential there are no businesses or public areas within the neighborhood. There are countless great activities within just minutes of Stoney Point including:

Bayshore Blvd

Bayshore Boulevard is one of the most defining centers of activity in the Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood  just east of Stoney Point to the south and offers a 4.5 mile sidewalk along the shores of the bay. It is a popular place to bike, walk, and run or access the Bayshore Greenway Trail.

Bayshore Town Center

Is a mixed use shopping center in the Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood offering great shopping, dining, exercise venues, and several local events. This shopping center is just a few minutes from Stoney Point.

Ballast Point Park 

The park is right on the shore line of Hillsborough Bay on the east side of the peninsula and offers a 600 foot pier over the water, a splash pad play area, a playground, picnic areas, gazebo, boat dock, boat ramp, and the best place to catch a sunrise or sunset over the bay or to just sit and enjoy the Tampa skyline. Taste of Boston Restaurant is located here as well. 

Bridge to St. Pete

The bridge to St. Pete can be accessed via the 275 just a few minutes north of the Stoney Point neighborhood or to the south vis the Gandy Bridge should you decide to visit an ocean beach via car you can hop on the bridge over to the gulf coast beaches in St. Pete. 

Downtown Tampa

     -The Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium is located right on the waterfront on Channelside Dr. just steps from the port. This very large 200,000 square foot aquarium is home to more the 14,000 animals native to Florida and beyond. Get up close to the animals at the touch pools or through the penguin meet and greet, let the littles play in the splash pad, swim with Dolphins, watch 3-D films, and more. 

        -Sparkman Wharf

One of the best restaurant scenes in the city of Tampa Florida is the Sparkman Wharf. Whatever you are in the mood for you can find it at Sparkman Wharf on Water Street in the Channel District. Many locals love to leisurely stroll through with their furry friends enjoying the waterfront, live music, amazing food and craft beers/favorite local drinks.

        -Amalie Arena

Is a premier events center located in the Channel District. This is the home of Tampa's NHL ice hockey team, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the temporary home of the Toronto Raptors of the NBA. The Amelia Arena is a host to ice hockey, basketball, arena football, headlining concerts and more.
