Sun City Center is a golf cart community where residents can legally drive golf carts along the community streets and easily access anything in the community or just outside of the community. Many of the residents here end up selling their second car and purchasing a golf cart to much more easily get around this seemingly self-contained community.
Homes in Sun City Center
Sun City Center has a series of smaller neighborhoods that make up the entire community. Development began in 1961 by Del Webb. As sales began to slow down he sold the remaining undeveloped land and new developers have since stepped in to fulfill building more residential enclaves in the community. Today there are several neighborhoods including the original community and newer sections such as King's Pointe and Renaissance. The largest neighborhood community section was the original one built by Del Webb with around 6200 homes. King's Pointe is a gated community with around 5300 villas. It is next to the original community and features its own amenities and homeowner association. Renaissance is the newest neighborhood in Sun City Center with single-family homes, the residents of this community own their homes and properties out right. There is a large variety of home styles and floorplans from condominiums and duplex villas to single-family homes. Home prices in Sun City Center range from just over $100,000 to the mid $500,000 range.
