More About Temple Terrace

Temple Terrace is a small town neighboring the city of Tampa on the east. Temple Terrace is probably most notable for its location on the banks of the Hillsborough River and the great golf course community centered around an expertly designed golf course. Today the city is undergoing much revitalization in it's 56th street commercial corridor and many people are being drawn to this quiet suburban area of the greater Tampa metro area.

Things to Do in and Near Temple Terrace

Lettuce Lake Park

Lettuce Lake Park is just north of Temple Terrace it is a large conservation park and one of the most visited parks in the county. More than half of the park is in the natural floodplain of the Hillsborough River with hardwood swamp forests. Here you can enjoy hiking trails, a boardwalk, observation tower, and a few areas that are dog friendly. People love to canoe and kayak down the river in this area as well.

Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve

A very large wilderness conservation area that contains a series of smaller park sites managed by the Hillsborough County Conservation and Environmental Land Management Department. Parks that can be found here include Dead River Park, Flatwoods Park, John B Sergeant Park, Morris Bridge Park, Trout Creek Park, and Wilderness Park off Rode Loop Trail. This is the spot to be if you're an outdoor or wilderness lover in the Tampa area it provides countless outdoor activities that many local people have not yet discovered.

Downtown Tampa

Downtown Tampa offers several things to do including shops, entertainment venues, and restaurants. Some of the most popular downtown Tampa activities include: 

     -The Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium is located right on the waterfront on Channelside Dr. just steps from the port. This very large 200,000 square foot aquarium is home to more the 14,000 animals native to Florida and beyond. Get up close to the animals at the touch pools or through the penguin meet and greet, let the littles play in the splash pad, swim with Dolphins, watch 3-D films, and more. 

        -Sparkman Wharf

-Museums and Art

There is a vibrant art scene in the downtown area as well as a great collection of museums. This includes the Central Arts District, the Chihuly Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of History, salvador Dali Museum (home of the largest collection outside of Spain), and more. 

-Demens Landing Park

A great green space near the pier with picnic areas and boat ramp on Tampa Bay. 

-Cross Bay Ferry

Enjoy a beautiful boat ride across Tampa Bay to Downtown Tampa and vice versa. 

--Shopping

There are many great shopping opportunities in Downtown St. Petersburg including a great collection of unique boutiques, antiques, books, jewelry, fashion, and gift stores. The Mall at Sundial offers several stores right next to each other, restaurants, and other unique services. At the mall you can find Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, AMC theater, Tommy Bahama, Chico's, and more. 

-Al Lang Stadium

Home of the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team. The 7,500 seat stadium holds much of the areas interesting sports history as well as other events in addition to soccer games. 

St. Pete Beach

St. Pete Beach is one of Florida's most iconic beach towns offering what many Floridians call the best beaches in Florida. Any water activity you want to take part in can be done from the beaches in St. Pete Beach. Tradewinds Island Grand Resort is located on St. Pete Beach where you can enjoy waterslides and other family fun like mini-golf. The amazing town of St. Pete Beach can easily be accessed via the bridge just south of the neighborhood. St, Pete Beach is a neighbor to Tierra Verde. Saint Pete Beach is located on the other side of the city of Saint Petersburg.
