Tropical Shores is a waterfront neighborhood in southeast St. Petersburg and is part of the greater Tampa Bay Metro area. The neighborhood has a great location just minutes from downtown St. Petersburg and is located on two peninsulas connected together that jut into Tampa Bay from the eastern edge of the old Southeast neighborhood. The neighborhood shares a border with the south end of the popular Lassing Park along St. Petersburg's eastern shore.
Things to Do in and Near Tropical Shores
Lassing Park is a large waterfront park in Old Southeast. This 14-acre park highlights views of the bay, downtown St. Pete, downtown Tampa, large green spaces, benches to take in the sights, a walking path, and a place to drop a kayak in the water.
This was once a zoo and is now a green space and place for bird rehabilitation. There are 3 miles of trails through natural habitats and tropical landscapes surrounding Lake Maggiore.
Downtown St. Petersburg
Downtown Saint Pete is one of the most charming cities in Florida. There's a great vibrant art scene in Saint Pete as well as several historical places and many newer modern areas to enjoy as well. There are many amazing restaurants, parks, arts venues, entertainment, a sports stadium, and even the opportunity to catch a ferry ride across the bay to downtown Tampa.
