Venetian Isles was originally developed in the 1960s but many homes have been renovated over the years. The community began in 1958 when developer George R Davis began acquiring the submerged land rights to the area. This landfill project was one of St. Petersburg's most costly development projects. Homes began construction in the late 1960s and 1970s. Venetian Isles has an elevation 5 to 7 feet above the natural shoreline, which alleviates a lot of flooding problems from neighboring areas.  As of 2021, newer construction homes are replacing older homes and you'll find a variety of styles including ranch-style Florida homes to Mediterranean-style estates.

You'll find a wide range of styles, designs, and ages to these homes. With a population of about 1300, Venetian Isles is known for its waterfront property, estates that offer boat docks for deepwater boats, diversity, housing, and public schools.

72% of Venetian aisle residents own their own homes the median home value of about $500,000. Homes that might need either a complete teardown or rebuild start at about $280,000 with finished homes and high-end luxury estates going for over $2 million.

HOA

Venetian Isles has its own neighborhood homeowners association formed in 1970. It's designed to preserve the quality of life and maintain continuity within the community. Residents enjoy block parties, neighborhood outings and garage sales, and family-friendly events. All of this is quite reasonable for the less than $150 a year in association dues.

Nearly every home is waterfront and most have backyard swimming pools and access to the water. There are less than 20 homes in Venetian Isles that are not actual waterfront property.

Schools

Residents are part of the Pinellas school district and most school-age children attend the Shore Acres elementary school, the Meadowlawn middle school, and the Northeast high school. The Canterbury School of Florida, shore Crest preparatory school, and Northeast school are all within about 4 miles from Venetian Isles and can be accessed by students. Some of the top-rated schools within the Venetian Isles area include the St. Petersburg collegiate high school, the tarpaulin springs fundamental elementary school, the crudest fundamental elementary school, and the James B Sanderlin pre-k through eighth grade.
